The University of Warwick Big Band blasted away other Big Bands at this year's annual Alma Jazz Festival in Bologna, the jazz capital of Italy.
The festival, held between the 20-23rd September, welcomed 9 Big Bands from accross Europe and South America for four days of musical spectacle culminating in a competition on the final night. The University of Warwick Big Band were selected to represent Britain in this high profile festival, and secured the coveted prize of "Best Big Band" with fantastic performances throughout the four days, and the "energy and enthusiasm" of the band and their playing were what won them the final competition.
